On 20-21 October 2026, Dublin will welcome the world’s bioeconomy community for the Global Bioeconomy Summit 2026 (GBS 2026), bringing together global expertise at the Convention Centre Dublin during Ireland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Recognised as the world’s leading international forum on the bioeconomy, the Summit brings together political leaders, policymakers, researchers, industry, investors and civil society from across the globe to accelerate sustainable, bio-based innovation and solutions. Ireland was selected as host following GBS 2024 in Nairobi, reflecting its growing leadership in bioeconomy policy and research, bio-based innovation, and circular bioeconomy solutions. GBS 2026 will explore how the bioeconomy can drive innovation, economic growth and climate action – from sustainable food systems and bio-based materials to low-carbon industry and rural development. The Global Bioeconomy Summit has been held in 2015, 2018, 2020 and 2024 and is organised by the International Advisory Council on Global Bioeconomy (IACGB) in partnership with host countries.
